Stress affects the body physically, mentally and emotionally.

What can we do about it?

It is not the event or situation that creates the stress. It is how we respond to it. Emotions have a powerful impact on the human body. Positive emotions like appreciation, care and kindness feel good are good for us. They help the systems in our body synchronize and work better.

Research has shown when we intentionally shift to positive emotion, the heart rhythms immediately change. This shift in heart rhythms creates a favorable cascade of neural, hormonal and biochemical events that benefit the entire body.

How does it work?

When we are stressed, the body is out of sync. The depleting emotions we feel, like anger, frustration, anxiety and worry, lead to disorder in the nervous system. Renewing emotions like appreciation, care and kindness create order which is called coherence. Coherence leads to mental clarity, creativity and resiliency.

How to Practice Coherence?

Practice the Quick Coherence Technique daily to reduce the effects of stress, and use the Heart Math technology, emWave Pro plus, to see the changes in the body and sustain them. The technique is a simple and easy way to interrupt the stress response. Use it 4-5 times a day for minimum of 3 weeks. Good times to use it are first thing in the morning, before going to sleep at night and during lunch. Also, use it whenever a stressful event occurs and when you want to rebalance, get and energy boost and get more mental clarity.

Services Provided:

1-Minute HRV Deep Breathing Assessment

Challenges the autonomic nervous system via a guided 1-minute paced deep breathing protocol with a visual breath pacer to determine the maximum amount of vagally mediated (parasympathetic) HRV the autonomic nervous system produces. Results of the standardized HRV measures are compared to age-related reference ranges and a report can be printed and saved. HRV collected using this protocol has a good correlation to the gold standard 24-hour assessment of HRV making it ideal for assessing how much overall HRV a person has.

HRV Assessment

HRV assessment provides an analysis of heart rate variability with the most common standardized measures calculated from a user selectable time range between 2-minutes and 99-minutes.

HRV & Coherence training

Using a pulse sensor, emWavePro collects pulse data and translates coherence information into user–friendly graphics displayed on a computer screen. emWave Pro helps create a coherent state through coherence techniques, interactive exercises and games, building resilience, increasing energy, and promoting focus, mental clarity and emotional balance.
